Women economic empowerment project : Skills Training Center
Launched a skills training centre in Buziga to equip women from the slums of Katuuso with income generating skills like basket weaving, hairdressing, make up, etc to help them earn a living and become independent responsible citizens of Uganda. Today, 5 of those women have started their own basket weaving businesses from home while 3 have been employed in saloons. One of the graduates from the program called Pamela Nabimanya shared with me how she currently makes 90,000 ugx weekly about 20 pounds from selling baskets to contribute to her income household and buy some personal utility items which she wasn’t able to do before.
Kakazi foundation car wash fundraiser for the skills training project:
1200 usd was collected at the car wash to launch and set up the women economic project mentioned above.
